Laura Waldon received her Master of Fine Arts degree in
Creative Nonfiction Writing from the University
of New Hampshire, where
she taught First Year Writing and serves as director and creator of the
university's Online Writing Lab. Waldon also works as a professional writing consultant for Plymouth State University.
Before moving to the Northeast, Waldon worked as a
journalist and freelance magazine writer in a Minneapolis suburb. She received the John
Engman Writing Award for Poetry in 2000 for her poem "Night Visits,"
and earned her Bachelor's degree in English and sociology from Augsburg College in 2001, graduating with
distinction.
Laura Waldon is currently completing the manuscript of her
first book, which examines the personal stories behind the battle over same-sex
marriage in Massachusetts.
